I have been inspired by the early church since meeting Jesus over 20 years ago. I often studied and had a deep desire to see the heart of the early church return. They lived in revival. They didn’t just experience it. Everywhere the disciples went revival followed. The church was united and full of the power of God. Numbers were added daily and signs and wonders were constantly being done. I devoted years to studying this and the more I learned the more I wanted what they had. I knew God was the same today, yesterday and tomorrow, so what God gave them He would also give to me.
The Fellowship of the Believers (Acts 2:42-47)
42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe[a] came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
1. Devoting themselves to the apostles teachings
So a few months ago we decided that this is what we would do. We would follow Acts 2:42-47 and trust God to do a work in and through us. So we devoted our time to creating a schedule that would allow for daily studying of Gods word. Everything else would come after that. We then open our to the office compound, Monday-Friday 9-11am. We started with an ending time of 10:30 but we never finish on time so we have changed our time to 11am. This allows for us to have 2 hours of devoted time to study the teachings in Gods word. Sometimes we even go up to midday. I love that we can spend the time we need to.
When we first started to devote ourselves to the apostles teachings, we had two people. We taught them how to study Gods word for themselves. We believe that God wants to take everyone to the deep. To reveal the most intimate things about himself to His children. It is for everyone. We believe in order to be the church one needs to know God. If you don’t know Him how can you teach others about who he is. We often times go to church and listen to a pastor teach about what he learned from his time with God. It is so important that we too have our own time with him. But we found so many don’t know how to read and understand God’s word. This is where we felt called to help.
We have watched excitement grow each day as the word has become alive to those who attend the discipleship class time. Our numbers have grown, literally everyday. We are entering our fourth week now, and there has not been a day where someone new has not come. People are inviting people and others are coming in off the streets. God is on the move. They are learning, studying and taking what they learn and impacting our city with it.
We are in the midst of a mighty move of God, a miracle. People told us the men would have no interest in this. Guess what? God prophesied to me years ago that the men would come and they would be the key to changing this nation for Christ, to bring it back to God. more than 2 thirds of those attending are men. They are bringing more men every day. Women are also coming and inviting other women. They are becoming spiritually more awake everyday. They are having the breath of life breathed into their spirits and it is amazing to watch.
We have shared the importance of not just receiving Gods word but also giving it to others in word and action. We talked about the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea, both fed by the Jordan River. One is lush and beautiful and the other dead. Why? The dead sea is dead because it has no outlet. No where for the water to go. Same happens to us. If what God pours in never pours out we too become spiritually dead. So we each day encourage them to keep pouring out that God may keep pouring into them afresh. They are doing just that!
We are remodeling our office compound and so many of them stay to volunteer to help. Others have paid for things we need done as an offering to the ministry. They leave and share Gods word with their family and friends. One man talked to a young guy who stole a phone. He shared Gods word with him and who God is and how much God loves him but that God sees all things. The young man returned the phone to the owner! God is on the move because we are on the move!
We are having our first outreach movie night on the 29th and our whole study group has volunteered to work that night for security purposes. They volunteered to hang the fliers up all over their city. They are inviting their neighbors, friends and families. God is on the move!
2.Devoted to Fellowship
Fellowship is so much more than just hanging out. It’s being as one. Having all things in common. one of the meanings is having social intercourse. That’s how close we are together. The body of Christ. All different members yet one body, inseparable. You cannot separate our body into distinct parts and still have it work properly. It only works at its best when all parts are harmonioulsy working together, strong and healthy. So too is the body of Christ. We are all members of one another and members of Christ. We will never see the blessings that the early church saw if there is division, ranking, different belief systems. Acts says that they had ALL things in common. This came from the four things they practiced daily. So we are becoming the body. Understanding the importance of each person being built up so the whole body can be strong. An intimacy that is greater than any other intimacy on this earth. A love so deep that it turns the head of every man as they watch. The love of God pouring out to each and every person. A beautiful oneness that can only be attained by God through Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.
3. The Breaking of Bread
We take every Wednesday study time to devote to sharing in the Lord’s supper. God says to do it often to remember Him. I believe we have left this one and we have seen the repercussions of it. We can never forget what He did for us. What God sacrificed for us. When we share in the Lords supper it brings us to rememberance of his broken flesh and poured out life blood for us that it reminds us of the love He washed us in and why we have to share this love with the world. It is a moving time that humbles us to remember that we have been saved by Gods grace alone. Nothing but the blood of Jesus. So often we forget how he Suffered for us and what His conquering death means for our freedom. WE MUST REMEMBER!
4. PRAYER
We take time to pray. To teach them to pray. So often we wake up and pray. WE TALK TO GOD. We go about our day and at the end of our evening we again, go and talk to God. WE TALK TO GOD. But how often do we listen. Sit still before God and hear His heart. Listen to Him sing over you. Zephaniah 3:17. It says in Gods word to not come to him with many words because He already knows what you are going to say. But that you should come quiet to listen for Him to speak to you. Ecc. 5:1-3 “Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. 2 [b] Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few.”
We are learning what is is to come before the Lord to listen instead of coming before Him to speak. A one sided conversation isn’t a conversation at all and a one sided relationship isn’t maintainable, because it isn’t healthy. We want to be slow to speak and quick to listen as proverbs tells us. This will grow our relationship with God to a much deeper level. Prayer may be waiting for Him to speak to us more than it is us speaking to Him.
AND AWE CAME UPON EVERY SOULD AND SIGNS AND WONDERS WERE BEING PERFORMED AMONG THEM.
The awe is falling upon those who are learning who God is and upon those who are watching what is happening. As they learn who they are In Christ, it is no doubt that these signs and wonders will begin to pour out. God is on the move!Once we know who God is, we can know who we are. Once we know who we are we can be His vessels to pour out is power to the world, to prove He is who He says He is. Gods word tells us in the end times the church will have a form of godliness but deny His power. 2 Timothy 3:5
So we are super excited about what God is doing here in Gulu, Uganda.
We are currently meeting in an outdoor Gazebo, which is so beautiful. We will soon outgrow the space if God continues to add to our numbers daily as He has been doing. So we are praying about getting a tent that we can put on our office property so we can welcome many more people to learn God’s word and to also extend our fellowship/discipleship time to Sunday mornings. The cost of the tent is $7000. We know God will provide.

Today we had the honor of baptizing four of our Discipleship class students, our sisters and brothers in Christ. We are so amazed at all God is doing through us as Woven2Gether! We truly praise Him. He told me not to long ago, Woven2Gether isn’t an organization, it’s the proclaiming of gospel that lives in us. He was so right! That is what we do, we share the gospel and we are so excited how the Holy Spirit is moving in people as they learn His word!
Thank you for being on this journey with us. Thank you for your prayers and love. We are here because of you and the seeds you sew into us.

WOVEN2GETHER! Struggling is the real meaning of life but VICTORY & SUCCESS are in the hand of GOD. A river Cuts the ROCK not because its powerful but it has to keep on going/moving/flowing. So as ministries keep on moving and in whatsoever increasing number in each day of the BIBLE study, FAITH, HOPE, & LOVE counts more. Thanks, Jehoshaphat.
