We often times pray that God would help someone that we know needs help. We at other times pray that God will send someone to help us. What I have learned is that God uses people to answer prayers. We are the answers to peoples prayers. In the most simple ways to the most extravagant ways, we are the answer that God is sending them.
So many of you have been the answers to someones prayers half a world away. You live in America and the ones prayers that have been answered through you, are literally across an ocean and a continent, receiving an answer to a prayer they cried out to God, hoping He would answer, and He did through you! I want to thank you for being the answer because the following lives have been transformed because of God using you to answer their prayers.
Nelson and his Auntie Jackie. You answered their prayers. Nelson’s family had prayed for him for so long that they actually gave up on him. He drank and stole and was beaten almost to death many times when he was caught for stealing. Everyone quit talking to him. Because of a family giving donations we were able to help him when we found him drunk and beaten almost to death, inconscious on the side of the road. We were able to get him the medical care he needed. We were also able to purchase him so clothes that fit and shoes because he didn’t have either. We also found out the night Auntie Jackie took him in that she was robbed at her shop in town. over $140 u.s. dollars was stolen from her. A family felt led by God to pay the money back. So the very next day we were able to go to her home and replace what had been stolen. She had prayed all night for God to make a way for her, she didn’t sleep. So while she laid awake praying God was working on this families heart to make a way for her. She couldn’t afford to buy Nelson a blanket when she took him in, so this family even sent a little extra so she could buy him a blanket, as you see in the photo. Auntie Jackie said that she has never seen God take of her like he has now. She now truly believes that He sees her and that He loves and cares for what is happening in her life. She knows now she can trust Him no matter what she is going through. Thank you to this family who not only answered her prayer but confirmed how much God loves and cares for her and how much He can be trusted to take care of her. May God bless you for your kindness.
Sheila and Jaja. Sheila is 16. She was kicked out of her house and her family wanted nothing to do with her. Life is complicated here. When your mom or dad remarry the new step parent can reject the kids aren’t theirs and have them leave. That happened to Sheila. She was then no longer able to continue to go to school. She cried as she shared her story with me. A girl feeling abandoned, unloved and so unsure of her future. So I asked for prayer for her as we sought ways to help her. Then God answered her prayers through a family who paid for her school fees. She is now in school and happy because she can see a future for herself again and her hope has been restored. We praise God that He moves in the hearts of His people to take care of every sheep so that we can be answers to prayers, bringing glory to God for being a Father who always provides for his children. Then there is jaja. The 73 year old women who took Sheila in. She has now 7 children she takes care of with no income. Her kids help her where they can. Her sister died leaving her 3 adult children with jaja. She is left to still even fetch water for her children. She loves Jesus so much but her story is one of faith in the storm. She lived here during the war and had three of her children abducted from her house and forced into the army when they were just 6-11 years old. She has endured so much suffering in her life. She has suffered much violence which you are reminded of every time she smiles, with her missing front teeth. This loving family who paid for Shelia’s school also sent money to jaja. Jaja just held the money and praised God over and over again for taking care of her. She loves him so much. She was able to buy food and things that she couldn’t afford like greens, which are just green plants that they make to eat but even they are a blessing to the beans and paste they had been eating every meal every day. So thank you to this family who listened to God and poured into this family. They are so grateful for Gods love that He has shown through you. May God abundantly bless you.
A mom who chose out of fear to end her pregnancy. She is struggling with depression. She is praying that God helps her heal and helps her to find a life that is happy and that will please him. We are able to meet with her and disciple her through a post abortion bible study. She is struggling to even want to live. But we are able to be here for her and help feed her the word of God and we couldn’t do this without our monthly donors. You are her answer so thank you.
Tasha. She is a beautiful girl. She just moved today from her home in the capital city of Kampala. She is starting over in a new city many hours from “home” while being 7+ months pregnant. We were able to purchase everything she needed for her hut so she can be settled for her babies arrival. She came to us through a referral for wanting to abort. We counseled her with the word of God and he brought her hope and she is now expecting her sweet one in just a matter of weeks. The same week she was coming we received a donation to cover all her expenses from a family who made the donation. I had prayed asking God how we were going to be able to do all this for her and not early or late but right on time this family sent a donation and mine and Tasha’s prayers were answered. I was so blessed to be reassured that if God calls us to do something He will provide.
Mercy she is another beautiful woman. She is due in just a few weeks. God brought her to us through a referral. She was praying so hard because she was so scared about the pregnancy. She was contemplating suicide or abortion. She really didn’t think she could do it. Afraid of what people would think and not sure how she could be a single mom. We discipled her and counseled her and she has chosen life. She is now doing discipleship classes four times per week and so hungry for the word of God. She was praying so hard that God would show her what to do. Then He brought her to us. She has been earning points as she has done her pregnancy and discipleship classes to earn things that she needs. She has been able to purchase a few maternity outfits since she didnt’ have any clothes that fit. Now she is working on earning all the items she will need to deliver at the hospital and things she will need for the baby. You buy everything the doctors need for delivery as well as everything you need. So she is very grateful that she will be able to earn the money to buy the things she needs. Mercy has found God, seen His love and provision. She now knows He will always be there to help her in life no matter what she is facing. Her prayers were answered through our monthly donors. So thank you for being the answer to not only her prayers but so many that will also come through Woven2Gether. May God richly bless you for sowing seeds into the lives of those who need to know Gods love and forgiveness.
Eveyln. She is one of my best friends. Her life is hard, but so many here have such hard lives. If I was to explain her journey so many of you would cry and wonder how she has the strength to carry on. Her kids last year couldn’t go to school because they had no money for school fees. She has tried selling small items in front of her house but the little she makes isn’t enough to meet the needs of the family. She is so kind, humble and caring and gives what she has to others even if it means she will go without. We hired her to help around the house so she could save money to pay the school fees. She works so hard everyday. She brings joy and laughter to our home and for that we are so grateful. She has been praying for years and years that God would provide a job for her that would allow her to take care of her children. He has. Through us but through us only because of the families that have given of themselves each month into Woven2Gether to pay her salary. Most of them live off a dollar a day, maybe 2, for a whole months work. So thank you to those of you who through your donations have been an answer to her prayers. May God shine on you and be gracious to you and give you His favor and peace for helping those who need to know that God is there and loves them and will provide for them.
Mama Kan. She has a beautiful baby girl, Judith. Judith had to be born early because the ambilical cord wrapped around her. She is just about a year now and cannot sit, rollover or do things that a child of a year can do. She is loved. She is amazing. She is a miracle. Months ago she almost died. She was brought to a local hospital where they left her unconscious on a bed for four days, not eating, do drinking, no meds, no I.V., She had had many seizures that left her completely paralyzed adn unconscious. We had to move her to a different hospital in town to save her life. We needed clearance to leave the hospital but they wouldn’t give it so we snuck her out of the hospital. I knew the bill would be very expensive because this is the most expensive hospital in the area. I didn’t know what we were going to do. I was talking with God for days while I was waiting to see what He would do. I finally got a call that I had to pay the bill so far in order for them to keep treating Judith. I cried out to God wondering where He was and why these things keep happening that take so much funds from us. As I was complaining, I was walking into the hospital and received a text from a friend that she was sending money right then to go into the ministry. The amount was enough to cover all of Judith’s hospital bills. This friend was not only the answer to my prayers but to Mama Kan’s also. We praise God for using His people to save this beautiful life.
Brenda. Brenda is my volunteer social worker. She is volunteering for three months as we see how she likes serving with Woven2Gether. She had been praying like all the others, that God would take her deaper in her relationship with Him. She was hungering for something more but she couldn’t find it. She hadn’t worked for over 3 years because of her young children that she has at home. She missed being used by God and so through amazing circumstances God brought her to me. I didn’t call her back for over 2 months but then God told me I needed to call her. So I did and she has been by my side ever since. Their family is struggling right now to make ends meet because her husband has taken a risk to start a business raising chickens. He is so wise in His work but as we all know it takes time to for the profit to come when starting a business. So she will be hired on full time at the end of June. We are so excited to have her as a part of Woven2Gether. She is in our discipleship training class and hungry for every word that she reads in scripture. With tears in her eyes one day, she told me God had brought her to the deep and that her prayers had been answered. We wouldn’t be able to be a vessel to teach her Gods word if someone wasn’t a vessel for God to use to donate their prayers and finances to Woven2Gether. It is your faithfulness to serve God by being a vessel through which He can bring an answer to someones prayers. So thank you with all my heart and may the fruit of your seeds multiply again and again.
God says it is more blessed to give than to receive. So I want to be faithful to be able to share what we are doing with the seed money that has been sown into Woven2Gether. We don’t always get to see what God has done with what we do but I also think it is important to see what God is doing through us as we are faithful to His call on our lives as it builds not only our faith but yours. So thank you again to all those who are walking along side of us through prayer and giving through you we are being used by God to be able to answer the prayers being cried out from Uganda to a God who hears and answers. There is no small answer to prayer, only huge ones that grow our faith and teach us of the love and steadfast faithfulness of our Father. We praise Him for He is truly trustworthy and truly sees what His people need and provides. Let us keep being the answer to peoples prayers as we bring Glory to God.
Isaiah 58
“Cry aloud; do not hold back;
lift up your voice like a trumpet;
declare to my people their transgression,
to the house of Jacob their sins.
2 Yet they seek me daily
and delight to know my ways,
as if they were a nation that did righteousness
and did not forsake the judgment of their God;
they ask of me righteous judgments;
they delight to draw near to God.
3 ‘Why have we fasted, and you see it not?
Why have we humbled ourselves, and you take no knowledge of it?’
Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure,[a]
and oppress all your workers.
4 Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight
and to hit with a wicked fist.
Fasting like yours this day
will not make your voice to be heard on high.
5 Is such the fast that I choose,
a day for a person to humble himself?
Is it to bow down his head like a reed,
and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him?
Will you call this a fast,
and a day acceptable to the Lord?
6 “Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the straps of the yoke,
to let the oppressed[b] go free,
and to break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover him,
and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then shall your light break forth like the dawn,
and your healing shall spring up speedily;
your righteousness shall go before you;
the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’
If you take away the yoke from your midst,
the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10 if you pour yourself out for the hungry
and satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
then shall your light rise in the darkness
and your gloom be as the noonday.
11 And the Lord will guide you continually
and satisfy your desire in scorched places
and make your bones strong;
and you shall be like a watered garden,
like a spring of water,
whose waters do not fail.
12 And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt;
you shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
you shall be called the repairer of the breach,
the restorer of streets to dwell in.
13 “If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath,
from doing your pleasure[c] on my holy day,
and call the Sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
or seeking your own pleasure,[d] or talking idly;[e]
14 then you shall take delight in the Lord,
and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;[f]
I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”M
