Today, Sunday, my day to rest, or save a life. I got a call that one of our girls, who self aborted her baby using medication was bleeding out. In minutes I was up, awake, dressed and out the door. I just prayed. We can’t lose her too. We took her straight to a clinic to get an ultrasound to so see what was happening. I never thought I would be sitting in a clinic holding onto a 20 year old young lady, so scared that she will die. She cries in my arms as we wait for her turn to use the ultra sound machine.
The results: The baby, never fully aborted. I was so emotional. I am here to watch God save lives and knowing that we couldn’t save this one breaks my heart. But here in front of me is a girl who still needs to be saved. She has been bleeding so heavy since the day before at 6pm. It has been almost 16 hours of complete bleeding. Too long.
The abortion pills here are too easy to access. You can walk into a pharmacy and buy them for 30,000 shillings or 8 dollars. They don’t care who you are, how far along you are in your pregnancy, if you have complications, they only care about getting their money. Abortion is illegal here, yet I am finding out there is no implementation of this law. Clinics here perform the abortions, just like every where else in the world, because they get rich doing it. They charge a lot of money for abortions and it is a big money industry here and across the world. So abortion being illegal here, it’s a good law but what does it mean if we don’t hold to its standard.
The doctor tells us the baby is dead but wasn’t able to be expelled because it was too big for the cervix opening. If we hadn’t brought her in she would have surely died from bleeding and infection. Just twenty years old and her life would have been over. She made a wrong decision and these are the consequences that followed her.
They showed her the baby, she will never be the same. Her eyes are hollow, she just cries, we can’t console her. Her emotions overwhelming her. She knows what she has done and she is undone by guilt. We speak life into her and remind her of a God who loves her and wants her to know Him and love and trust Him in return. We will be starting post abortive counseling and biblical discipleship this week. She needs Jesus. She needs Grace. She needs to know she has been forgiven by the blood of Jesus. She needs to be restored.
I am undone today. I am so grateful that God used us to save her life. I am so sad that we couldn’t save her child’s life. We talked with the doctor so at this clinic and they see so many post abortive and abortive girls and women. We know that the numbers we could be looking at are over a 1000 girls a month. 1000!!!. I have no idea what we are going to do but we aren’t going to give up. I know this road will be hard but God will protect, guide and give us all the wisdom and resources we need.

Thank you to those who financially give into our ministry. You make it possible for us to reach out and have God save lives through us. Today it cost 145,000 shillings. Her auntie, whom she stays with had 50,000 remaining for the whole month of May to feed her family and pay for medical if her children should get sick. She literally had a dollar a day left for each day of May remaining. she spent 25,000 on the ultra sound. So now she remains one dollar for two days. It is so hard here. The procedure to finish the abortion was 120,000. That is equivalent to 34.00 dollars. It is because of your generous hearts to give that we were able to pay for her procedure and save her life. So thank you all for your love, prayers and support. We are spreading the gospel, and God is saving lives spiritually and physically through you. Thanks for being a part of our team. We love you all.
Please continue to pray for this girl and her family and that she finds Jesus and one day knows how much she is loved by God! Please pray for us as we will be meeting with the department of health to fight to have these abortive medications removed from the pharmacies. Also pray as we try to stop the abortion procedures being done in the clinics. We don’t know how God is going to do it but He will make a way to create awareness and a way for us to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
