We have some exciting news we have been keeping quiet for some time to just take the time personally to adjust to it slowly and enjoy what God is doing here. But we are now so excitd to share what Yehovah has been doing through Woven2Gether. We rented a room in town as the last place we were in rent was raised to a level we could not afford. After we left the last office we worked remotely and also met clients in more public places or in their homes. We moved the office to our house and did the bookwork from there. So after quite some time we were able to find a new place for our Crisis Pregnancy Counseling Center. This entire time we continued to do disicpleship the local radio station two days a week. After praying for sometime I decided it was time to open our discipleship center. Anyone who knows me knows my heart has always been teach the word of God. I really believe that God has gifted me with the ability to teach His word and I am so very excited to be able to do it daily.
We began by designing window advertisements for the outside street view of the room we have rented. It took a few weeks to get the windows. I had fun designing the signs and it was so fun to see them get put up. We still had some internal work to on the center to be able to open but it was still very exciting. If you look up on the second floor those are our signs. This is an upcoming mall and so they are continuing to add another two stories up. The sign posts are the blue and orange ones. We are on a corner room so we are grateful to have advertisement on two busy streets in center of Gulu City.
After the Advertisments were up we began renovating the inside of the office space. We are so happy with how it turned out. We have a large table that seast eight where people sit and do discipleship. We also have a couch and two chairs for those that want a more casual environment for studying. We also have a small library with kids books and adult books that they can come sit and read. There is a kids play corner to offer entertainment for those who have children so they are able to relax while they study and read. We offer free water and popcorn to those we disciple as many of them don’t have consistent jobs so it is a small way we can bless them. We also provide bibles in English and in their local Luo language, along with paper, pens and markers so they are able to to take study notes. Lastly we offer audio bible for those who would prefer to listen to the bible versus reading it.
We have had many people stop in and inquire about what we do which has been exciting. We have several people who now attend weekly and daily discipleship classes. We also have a few people that we disciple over the phone, who are located to far from Gulu to come for in person discipleship. All of these individuals are growing tremendously and already have a much deeper understanding of the character of Yehovah, Yeshua (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit are. They are learning great study skills that have allowed them be able to study the bible with the ability to understand it for themselves, which is so exciting to watch. When they get their own revelation from God you can see the joy that comes from this. Our heart is that everyone comes to know who Yehovah is and Yeshua whom He has sent so they may find eternal life (John 17:3).
Yehovah is also working in the hearts of many to hear His word. They are calling asking for us to extend the biblical discipleship to other radio stations, villages and pastors of local and distant churches. We will update you more on theses potential opportunities after we have sought Yehovah’s leading and have clear direction from Him on what we are to do moving forward with these invitations. It is a very exciting time but also overwhelming in a good way.
