We want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. We are starting the year off with a bit of trouble this year. We were told our engine in our car was bad again. The transmission is also slipping. The car is 20 years old, going on 21 years old. We found a shop that was recommended that is pretty confident they can repair it for $300-$400 dollars by replacing some engine bearings along with a few other parts. This may or may not work but we believe it is worth a shot. We should have the answers by Tuesday end of the day.
As many of you know Todd and I have been apart of a year and a half. If we need to buy a car it will be very difficult for us to be able to do this and allow Todd to remain in Uganda. We do have an option to buy our own car. This will however drain most of what we have raised and saved so Todd will be needing to return to the states to work again until we can raise the money back that we will now have to use to buy a vehicle.
The reason we have decided to ask for help is with the desperate hope that we once again do not have to be separated. We know we can do it as we have already done it but wishing we didn’t have to do it again.
So we are simply asking if anyone feels led by God to help donate to repair our vehicle you can click the give link above or below. We are also asking that you would continue to pray for us and that the work they are doing on the engine will buy us some time to find a way to raise money to buy a more dependable vehicle. We will need to raise between 10-15.000 to get a dependable vehicle that will last us between 5-8 years. We keep our vehicles until the cannot be driven any longer, always have. We have been advised to get one of a few different styles by a local dealer, the Rav 4, Toyota Harrier or Toyota Vanguard. They are mid sized vehicles with mid height ground clearance (important for roads in Uganda).
We are grateful for everyone who has given so Todd can return here it blessed us so much to be together again. We don’t know if it is even right to spend that money on a vehicle but we really have no choice at this point. We have to be able to move to the office and to the capital for needed paperwork.
