We just wanted to take this opportunity to look back on Gods faithfulness this past year and give some exciting updates on what is in our hopes for 2024!
This year was a bit different than we had expected as Todd remained in the States and I remained in Uganda with Caleb. From January to May we worked hard on the office. We needed to readjust some of our paperwork and re-adjust our counseling training curriculum to better fit the culture of Uganda. It was hard work but we are so thankful to be moving forward with a solid foundation.
God has connected us to a great finance person that has allowed us to re-evaluate our office structure and helped us re-organize things in a way that should make things run smoothly this next year. We are so grateful for this partnership.
We also, after re-evaluating our counseling training, have one counselor just about fully trained to take crisis counseling cases. We will be ready to have her start counseling with oversight by the end of January! So excited to be able to see the lives that will be changed as we move forward.
We were able to see 6 women choose life for their babies this year that we know of! We know that these girls also go out and help their friends choose life also so we pray that even more lives were saved this year.
In May Caleb and I traveled to the states for Isaac’s graduation! It was so nice to be able to attend that moment in his life as we missed out on his senior year being in Uganda. We visited until the end of July. We celebrated Caleb’s 2nd Birthday!! Can’t believe he is already 2! We were able to see three specialists for Caleb’s metopic craniosynostosis diagnosis. We were able to agree with two of the three doctors that Calebs case is more on the mild-moderate and isn’t displaying side-effects worth doing surgery right now but we will watch him as he grows and believing God that he will be fine as his brain grows.
We returned to Uganda in August and worked hard to get our store fully ready to open in January. It’s been a much bigger project then we realized it would be but we are excited to be opening our doors officially in January. We are hoping this will bring some financial stability to the ministry so we can continue to reach the people of Uganda with the gospel.
Caleb and I returned to America in October through November as we were gifted a flight by dear friends so we could attend the missions conference. I was able to celebrate my birthday, Isaac’s Birthday, My dads birthday and my mom and dads anniversary and Thanksgiving for the first time in three years so that was awesome!
I was able to purchase and receive some amazing donations wile in the states. We received a battery generator with solar panel so our office can maintain running during our frequent power outages! We are also excited because this carries enough power to have village discipleship classes where we can take our projector and teach more hands on! We also received a the funds to purchase a blender for our mango smoothie business to help fund the ministry and to also purchase the equipment needed for our line discipleship classes, including lighting and camera! We received bibles, fetal doppler and fetus molds to help with our Crisis Pregnancy Counseling and our discipleship classes from Beautiful Feet Interantional. Also was an enough financial donations to help get Todd to Uganda for 6 months! We are super excited to have him back! We also have three new monthly supporters on our Woven2Gether Team! Welcome to the Woven2Gether Family!
At the very end of the year we were able to counsel another girl, who chose life. We visited her in the village and for the first time traveled with our ultra sound machine. It was amazing. Thank you Melissa Highland from Beautiful Feet International for making this possible for us and so many other centers around the world!
What’s ahead for 2024?
- Open our consignment shop to begin our sustainability hopes.
- Open our Crisis Pregnancy Counseling Center full time on February 1.
- Launch our Christian clothing line to help with sustainability and to proclaim the word of God as we move.
- Launch our online interactive discipleship classes, teaching people how to effectively study the word of God on their own.
- Hire a secretary, store clerk and one more counselor as funds allow.
- Start a discipleship class for 12 students that will run for one year.
- Look at starting Pastor Trainings on how to better disciple.
We are very excited to see all that God is and will do through our obedience in 2024! Apart from Him we can do nothing but with Him we can do all things!!
