We have been so blessed this past six months to be together again, Todd, Caleb and I. We are greatful for the families and friends that donated to make this last six months possible. We knew it would come to an end but we were hoping it wouldn’t come this soon. But again, so thankful for our time together.
While Todd was here I was able to spend many months working on legal and official paperwork that was coming due, I couldn’t have done this without him being here to help with Caleb and other things that needed to be looked after. We were able to get some work done at home and around the office with His extra hands. The Crisis Pregnancy Counseling Center is now up and running full time, instead of on a referral basis only. We also have a Sunday Fellowship we have begun where we disciple those who are hungry for Gods word. The rainy season brought water into the building which we are having to repair but Todd’s hands are on this!! We have been able to hire two security guards to help keep our Office safe, as we were recently broken into and had some things stolen. So we are grateful to have staff now to help keep any thieves away. We are overwhelmed with gratitude to everyone who has made this time as special as it has been.
Now as we look ahead we ask for special prayers. Todd is having to fly back in July to the states to begin working again to support the ministry and our family needs here in Uganda. The last time he left we were apart for a year and a half. We are not looking forward to separating again, our hearts are breaking. Caleb has loved having his daddy around. The first thing he does when waking up is say, “where is daddy?” if he isn’t in bed he searches the whole house until he finds him. They are best buds. They have spent endless hours working in yard, picking mangoes, fixing the driveway, playing in the sandbox, ect. I don’t know how Caleb will handle daddy leaving again but believing God will keep his heart.
Todd and I have shed a lot of tears this last week. Both knowing it’s coming but not wanting it to. He is an amazing provider and It’s been a faith building journey that has stretched us more than we somedays think we can handle. But by His grace we pull through each day. He is sufficient for today.
Our 25th Wedding anniversary is in August and we know we won’t be able to be together for it so that’s also been a difficult realization. But we know that overall we will hopefully have many years ahead that we can celebrate. It’s a lot of emotions.
We just want to make sure we are in Gods will no matter He leads us to do. We have faith that He knows what is best. We would appreciate your prayers as we venture into another new season of life.
It’s a hard time but we know God will lead and where He leads He will provide.
Thank you for being on this journey with us and for your prayers and donations. We couldn’t have gotten here without you.
Blessings
Todd and Jen
